William Pitchers, known as Willie, was the younger brother of Russel. He was born at Flordon in 1898. No records of him appear to survive apart from the 1901 and 1911 Censuses. There does not even appear to be a record of his christening, though the christening of his sisters Alice and Violet at Tasburgh in 1888 and 1890 respectively are recorded on Bishop’s Transcripts.
After enlisting, he is recorded as disembarking in Egypt on 11th July 1915. He was killed in action just over a month later at age 17. He is buried at the Alexandria Cemetery in Egypt.
It was recorded that he was posthumously awarded the 1914-1915 Star.
