Barford
The memorial sits in the churchyard of St. Botolph in Barford, Norfolk. It is made of grey, Cornish granite moulded into a Celtic-wheeled cross atop a square-shaped plinth and is adorned with the names of nine soldiers who fell and died in the First World War. They are listed below along with Absalom Snowley who, despite not being commemorated on the memorial, was born in Barford and thus receives attention here.

Eric was born around 1896. He died at the Battle of the Somme in 1916, and now rests in France.
Robert J. Fisher
Robert was born in 1891. He died of injuries sustained in battle in 1915. He is buried in Barford churchyard.
Harry Melton
Harry was born in Barford on 11 October 1900. After serving in the Navy, he passed away at home from tuberculosis in 1920.

Harry was born in 1870. In 1919, he died of injuries sustained in battle. He is buried with his wife in Barford.
Absalom Snowley
John was born in 1887 in Barford. He served with the Coldstream Guards and passed away on 14 September 1914.
